Updates & Status: Key Goals

New Inpatient Hospital Building

More hospital beds for our community…

Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital is pleased to announce the planned 2014 groundbreaking of an in-patient hospital building that will accommodate up to 120

new hospital beds. The new building will have six levels but will not exceed 85 feet in height.  This important hospital addition will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week and its development will provide Santa Clarita residents with upwards of 359 total hospital/patient beds right here in their local community.

The new in-patient hospital building is the center point of the master plan project expansion. This important expansion, coupled with the expanded emergency department, added operating rooms, new intensive care unit, and development of the hospital's first neonatal intensive care unit, plus supporting parking structures and medical office buildings, will assist Henry Mayo in expanding and improving patient care on an inpatient and outpatient basis.

In addition to improving quality of care and capacity to serve local needs, the hospital is an important economic engine in the Santa Clarita Valley - Henry Mayo's growth promotes career opportunities for nurses and other hospital staff, and the growing reputation of the hospital and it's medical staff is one of the reasons physicians will choose to grow their practice in our community.

Aside from the obvious benefits in health care, this is just the sort of positive community development project that contributes to Santa Clarita being an ideal place to live, work, play...and heal.

Anticipated to be completed in 2016, the new in-patient hospital building will help Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital to create a healthcare environment to surpass expectations for our community.
