Construction on Henry Mayo's first-ever neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) is on-schedule and anticipated to be completed in early 2012.
 

A new service being offered at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital provides specialized pediatric patient care designed to meet the unique needs of children seeking non-critical treatment. The service, which began in May, is contracted through Valley Inpatient Pediatrics and includes four pediatric intensivists.
 

Approximately one in eight women in the United States will develop breast cancer over the course of their lifetime. It is the second most commonly diagnosed cancer among U.S. women behind skin cancer. Unable to ignore these staggering statistics, the Sheila R. Veloz Breast Imaging Center at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital is making early detection and prevention its first priority.
 

In April, Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital celebrated the grand opening of its brand new parking structure. The new structure adds 750 parking spaces to the hospital campus, making parking a breeze for patients, visitors, staff and volunteers.
 
The new structure also features a life-saving rooftop helipad which is a vital addition to Henry Mayo's trauma center, helping to save lives when seconds can mean the difference between life and death.

Grand Opening
Life-Saving Helipad and New Parking Structure

Located atop the roof of the new parking structure, Henry Mayo's new life-saving helipad will resume services after a six year hiatus allowing for improved access to trauma services for individuals impacted by life-threatening injury or illness.  <

The construction of the new parking structure and life-saving helipad is on time and nearing completion.  Construction is anticipated to be complete in late April at which point customary inspections will occur prior to the official opening.
 
The new structure will provide 750 parking spaces on the hospital campus and bring much welcomed parking relief for patients, visitors and staff.
 

Road and sidewalk work at the intersection of Avenida Navarre and McBean Parkway began on February 7, and when finalized will include infrastructure improvements and the construction of accessible sidewalk ramps to create a more pedestrian friendly intersection.
